Director

Alex is the Director of the pioneering local hub of Youthscape, leading the vision to transform the social, emotional and spiritual health of Luton young people. Alex has been a part of the Youthscape team since 2010, and in that time has particularly specialised in developing innovative projects that engage young people in exploring their biggest questions and spirituality. Before joining the team, she studied Education with Drama and English at Cambridge University and worked as a Team Leader for a schoolwork trust. In her spare time, with her husband she leads a church plant that meets in a pub, loves to share good food with friends and family and saves up for her next travels.

Lucy Greenland

Lucy Greenland

Assistant Director

Lucy is Youthscape Luton’s Assistant Director, working specifically to help coordinate our local work here in Luton. She is particularly passionate about developing projects that meet the needs of vulnerable young people, and has eight years experience working with RONI (at risk of NEET intervention) and NEET (not in education, employment and training) young people. She also has a degree in History from the University of Southampton and loves traveling, reading, being outdoors and playing tennis. She has been part of the Youthscape team since January 2015.

Matt Allen

Matt Allen

NEET Prevention Specialism Lead

Matt is Youthscape’s NEET (Not in Eduction, Employment or training) interventions worker, which involves working with young people at risk of falling out of education. Before joining the team, Matt was an apprentice at Vauxhall where he qualified as a vehicle technition. He loves all things related to cars, being social, having adventures and enjoys a good coffee.

Emotional Wellbeing (Self-harm) Lead & GVS Co-ordinator

Helen is Youthscape's Emotional Wellbeing (Self Harm) Lead, working specifically with young people struggling with their emotional resilience and harming behaviour. She is particularly interested in understanding emotional triggers and working with young people to build their resilience as well as supporting local schools to help their more vulnerable students. Helen has a degree in Youth and Community Work with Applied Theology from The Centre for Youth Ministry. In her spare time she likes to read, knit and binge-watch TV shows on Netflix. Helen joined the team in January 2016.

Children in Care Specialism Lead

Joe is Youthscape’s Children In Care Specialist Lead working specifically with Young People in Care and Care Leavers. She is particularly interested in supporting young people through advocacy, developing their independence skills and working positively alongside social work and education professionals. Her qualifications include a Diploma In Social Work. In her spare time Joe enjoys helping with her local church youth group and watching sport. Joe has been part of the team here since September 2014

Robert McNerney

Robert McNerney

Youth Development Worker

Robert is Youthscape's Youth Development Worker, employed by Youthscape and local church St. John's Methodist. He is responsible for contributing to the development of SMSC projects as well as the faith and spiritual growth at Youthscape. At St. John's he is working with the church and the local community to establish the foundations for launching successful youth work.  Robert has a passion for helping young people explore spirituality and faith and is excited to come to England from America to work with the young people of Luton. Before joining the team, Robert worked in business and has a finance degree from James Madison University. In his spare time he enjoys praying, being outdoors, campfires, listening to and writing music, and all sports.

Gemma Milligan

Gemma Milligan

Bute Mills Drop-In Manager

Gemma is the Drop-In Manager at Youthscape, working relationally with young people on the ground in Luton. She is passionate about supporting and empowering young people to recognise and develop their skills, aspirations, and voice. She has experience leading a youth ministry at a church in London, as well as working for the London Borough of Hounslow as a Detached Youth Worker. Her qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Youth Work and Ministry from Oasis College. She loves reading, writing, dance, and board games, and can usually be found with a cup of tea in hand.
