Exodus
The second book of the bible, follows on from Genesis where we found Joseph and his family living in Egypt. 400 years passed, and God's people are enslaved in Egypt. The Israelites (God's people) have grown in number in Egypt and the Pharaoh of that time sees them as a threat to his power. He is brutal to the Israelites murders innocent Israelite children. God responds to the prayers of his people, and sends Moses to rescue his people.
