International Certificate in Youth, Theology, and Innovation
The International Certificate in Youth, Theology and Innovation is a six-month programme designed for paid or volunteer youth workers, actively supporting young people and committed to learning from others in diverse cultural contexts. This will be the first cohort of a theologically-trained and innovation-minded network of youth workers that transcends national borders.
This year Youthscape is proud to be partnering with the Institute for Youth Ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary to launch the International Certificate in Youth, Theology and Innovation, running from November 2018 through to April 2019.
Students will gather in the UK in November 2018 at Youthscape for an opening retreat, before heading to the National Youth Ministry Weekend in Birmingham together - the largest youth work conference of its kind in the UK. With inspiring worship, workshops, speakers, and fellowship, the NYMW provides refreshment and connection for youth workers across borders.
Between December 2018 and March 2019 the group will complete an online curriculum of four courses covering theology, innovation, spirituality, and a contextualized project in innovative youth ministry. With a blend of self-paced coursework and associated assignments, participants are able to balance the demands of their ministries with the workload of the program.
The group will then meet again for a final time in the US in April 2019 for Princeton Theological Seminary’s Forum on Youth Ministry to synthesize their learning and share their contextual projects. Participants will then take part in the Forum’s four-day conference, learning from leading scholars and practitioners in youth ministry and the theological academy. As the Forum concludes, participants will receive their certificates and celebrate with a final reception.
Don’t miss this opportunity to invest in your own development as a youth worker and engage in cross-cultural learning and friendship as you do.
Places for the certificate are limited. For full details of the program and how to apply, visit the Certificate website.
