I'm the Senior Pastor of Zeo Church which I lead alongside a wider speaking, training, coaching and writing ministry. Prior to this, I served for 18 years as CEO, and latterly President, of the youth and children's missionary movement, Urban Saints. I am passionate about releasing potential in people and organisations, with a particular commitment to see young people live God’s great adventure. I love meaty pizzas, Belgian Chocolate Haagen Daaz and great movies! I became chair of trustees in October 2019.

I’ve got a strong interest in youth and young people’s transitions – I finished my PhD on the involvement of young people in the informal economy in 2016, and I now lecture on Health and Social Care at the University of Bedfordshire. I’m an Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, and as a teacher I encourage a student-centred approach to learning. My background is in Law, and I have a range of experience of supporting vulnerable people. I’ve worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau as a money adviser, as a volunteer advocate for people with learning disabilities, and I’m currently a volunteer money coach with Christians Against Poverty, in conjunction with Luton Christian Fellowship. I’m married and have two young children.

I spent the last 15 years as an Executive Director in industry. Before that I served in the Royal Navy for nearly 25 years. I love strategy, planning and resources, and I am keen, over the years to come, to help Youthscape build on their great work making a massive difference to young people’s lives. Married to Rachel, with two younger sons at home, and two older boys now doing their own thing. Never far from the sea, we recently moved to Dartmouth in Devon, where we spend as much time as we can either on the water or in it!

I’m the Director of Mission in the Diocese of St Albans, and a Residentiary Canon in the Cathedral. My family (my beautiful wife Kate and three wonderful children) and I live in St Albans with our black Labrador Max. I’m passionate about reimagining the Church’s role in God’s mission, exploring fresh expressions of church and encouraging growth through innovative, transformative missional worship. I’m a Fresh Expressions Associate, a consultant to the Church of England Liturgical Commission, and the author of Creating Missional Worship, which explores the meeting of Anglican liturgy with contemporary culture. I’m also a songwriter and visiting lecturer to colleges and conferences. When not working I love dog walks, gym sessions, family holidays and supporting Stoke City F.C.
